Join South Florida Tech Hub and FPL/NextEra Energy for an exclusive executive briefing exploring how innovation is transforming storm preparedness and response.
Hosted at FPL’s Juno Beach campus, this private gathering will provide an inside look at the people, technologies, and strategies that enable one of the nation’s most resilient electric utilities to prepare for and respond to major weather events.
The evening will feature:
- Storm Preparedness Overview with Kate Cotner, Director of Community Engagement, FPL, highlighting how FPL prepares for hurricane season and engages communities before, during, and after storms.
- Technology Demonstration with Jason Price, IT Technology Manager - Innovation, NextEra Energy, showcasing the advanced technologies used for storm damage assessment, restoration planning, and operational decision-making.
- Executive Panel Discussion, moderated by Danielle Mousseau, Director of Economic Development at 35 Mules, featuring Kate Cotner, Jason Price, and Grace Kurian, Vice President of IT at NextEra Energy. Together, they’ll discuss how digital innovation, AI, data analytics, and cross-functional collaboration are reshaping utility operations and disaster resilience.
The program will conclude with an optional behind-the-scenes tour of FPL’s Emergency Operations Center, offering attendees a rare opportunity to see where statewide storm response is coordinated.
